|FAT| Arts and Fashion Week 2012 will be held in a historic industrial warehouse located in Toronto’s  new up and coming arts district on  Sterling Rd.

15,000 square feet will play host to |FAT| Runway shows, exhibitions, installations,  social spaces, live photo shoots and backstage areas. The stunning space features 50 foot high ceilings and a 100 foot long runway as well as multiple project spaces featuring artist interventions, photography exhibitions and fashion installations. This will be our biggest and most diverse space to date!

Individual identity – what is it? Can it be grasped, and, most of all, is it static or changeable, just like everyone’s attitude to life is? The idea that everyone goes through various states of being in their lives in order to arrive at one’s ‘core identity’, seems logical enough – just as the concept of a parrallel development of individual and world does.
Most people would describe themselves as single individuals that rebuild and reinvent themselves time and again, and solely on their own account. IN reality this means that every person shapes their own reality in which he or she exists as a very independent person equipped with an all-encompassing ego. What ultimately becomes clear is that the perception of individual truth is at stake here. In reverse this means that absolute truth is hardly attainable at all. Consequently, the question pops up whether it is indeed the individual’s ego that keeps them from perceiving and living in a universal, truly real world.
One of the most striking examples for the collective creation of a potentially illogical reality is the determination of gender roles. Although it is a proven fact that men and women share many qualities and traits of the other biological gender, they have been confined to fixed roles for at least two millennia. Those ‘role corsets’ have no bearing on their actual emotional and biological reality, and they bring up the question how we are to define and reimagine our biological and social gender in order to step by step arrive at a much more universal truth.
So, ultimately: why are we confining ourselves to our own egos? Because we are too afraid to lose not only ourselves but also the all-too-narrow boundaries we set ourselves? Maybe we manage to free ourselves of this indefinite kind of fear if we finally start perceiving ourselves as part of a great or even universal reality.
Cocoon-like shapes and wide capes embody the individual’s relation to their self, while high-necked collars point at depicting introversion. On the one hand, the garments made from heavy woollen fabrics offer a great level of consistency and linearity. Fixed gender denominations are not a part of the concept.
On the other hand, transparent and light fabrics represent the presentation of the self. While the shapes are still very much devoted to the unity of masculine and feminine features, lace, silk and chiffon explicitly uncover them without idealising them.
In the ONE collection, black is the dominant colour. It is the linking agent, while the delicate colour accents of creme beige and olive unsettle it time and again.

GROUP AV started to produce an upcoming issue of Conceito AV magazine and the main theme is Berlin. They have an editorial space in the magazine which called “Close”. This is ment to invite interesting people to show a little bit of his own universe to their readers. They invited Nicole Roscher to show some special and private relicts of her life.

Matchbox is a concept store with the unique pieces of Turkish and International designers. The store is located at the most famous shopping district called Nisantası in İstanbul. The interior design of the shop reflects an urban feeling with its unique and chic concept that matches with the designers collections.

Ende Juli hat QVEST sich auf den Weg nach Paris gemacht, um zusammen mit Fotograf Misha Taylor und Stylist Darry Rodriguez ein ganz besonderes Editorial für unsere Septemberausgabe zu produzieren. Besonders vor allem deshalb, weil es sich bei den fotografierten Outfits nicht um die Kollektionsteile renommierter Labels, sondern um die Entwürfe junger, aufstrebender Modedesigner handelt.
Ihre Gemeinsamkeit: sie alle befinden sich im Rennen um den EVOQUE Fashion Award. Range Rover hatte zusammen mit QVEST und der Modeplattform LOOKK Anfang des Jahres talentierte Modedesigner dazu aufgerufen, ihre Kollektionen und Entwürfe einzureichen – und damit die Welt des im Herbst erscheinenden Range Rover EVOQUE auch modisch erlebbar zu machen. Auf den Gewinner des Wettbewerbs, der übrigens im Oktober auf der offiziellen Launchparty des neuen Automodells gekürt wird, wartet die finale Umsetzung seiner Kollektion!

VON BARDONITZ  präsentieren ihre S/S 2012 Kollektion ” SWALLOWHEART” , gemeinsam mit rund neun anderen wichtigen Berliner Modelabels, im Rahmen der Fashion Week Istanbul und knüpfen relevante Branchenkontakte.

BERLINPIECES, die Consulting Agentur für Fashion- und Lifestylebrands, engagiert sich in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Internationalen Design Zentrum Berlin (IDZ) für die Förderung von Nachwuchsdesignern und wird im Herbst das kreative Potential der Stadt nach Istanbul bringen.

Vom 6. bis 18. September 2011 werden die S/S 2012 Kollektionen von rund zehn der vielversprechendsten Berliner Modeschaffenden präsentiert. Im Showroom des Kooperationspartners Kumpanya 62 können die hochwertigen Kollektionsteile und Accessoires von unter anderem Kilian Kerner, Adriana Rica, Karolin Kruger, von Bardonitz, Manikó, Moga e Mago, Gretchen, Julice en Rève und Berlin my Inspiration gekauft und geordert werden. Ebenfalls nehmen die Designer am 15. September am Vogue Fashion’s Night Out – der jährlich in internationalen Metropolen stattfindenden Modenacht – teil.

Anlässlich der Kollektions-Präsentation wird es am 7. September 2011 eine Opening Party geben. Geladen sind unter anderem Vertreter aus den Bereichen Fashion, Wirtschaft, Fachpublikum, Presse und jungen Istanbuler Opinion Leadern. Bei der großen Abschluss-Party in einem der renommiertesten Fashion- Club Istanbul bringen Berliner DJs den Spirit und die Clubkultur der deutschen Hauptstadt an den Bosporus.

This unique coat by avant-garde label Von Bardonitz has quite the history with New York. It travelled there a couple of times all by itself to be used for photoshoots of New York based Magazines such as Chaos, or for other fashion editorials and even to be worn at events. Designer Nicole Roscher did not only donate this beautiful piece to the SKYY SWAP MARKET but also a special fringe scarve that she specifically designed for a the styling of a recent runway show.
